Holosun 407C X2 Footprint
The Holosun 407C X2 is an RMR footprint optic. This means it will fit on any RMR footprint slide or adapter plate.
Holosun 407C X2 Intended Use
The Holosun 407C X2 is an RMR footprint optic and a regular sized pistol red dot. This means it is intended for use on any pistol with an RMR footprint or RMR adapter plate. Most of the time this means the pistol will be a full size or compact such as a Glock 19 MOS or a S&W M&P 2.0. Make sure you know what footprint your gun is. The 407C X2 is not intended for and usually will not fit any micro compact pistol like a Glock 43X MOS or Sig P365. For the smaller pistols you want to look at the Holosun 407K X2 this is because the smaller micro compact pistols usually come with a different footprint like the RMSc or K series footprint.
The 407C X2 can also be used as a rifle optic, PCC optic, or backup scope optic if you get an "RMR" picatinny or offset adapter found here.

Holosun 407C X2 Review & Highlights
The Holosun 407C X2 is a heck of a value. If you compare the Trijicon RMR Type 2 to the 407C X2 you will see the 407C X2 has all the same features but is priced hundreds of dollars less.
If you are looking for a reliable, durable, RMR footprint optic with a great track record and warranty then look no further than the 407C X2.
If you enjoy 2 MOA dot reticles and don’t need anything more, then the 407C X2 is the perfect choice for you. It has great waterproof ratings, super long battery life, and great features like the solar failsafe and side removable battery.
It also has manual and auto brightness settings.
The 407C X2 also has a solar panel at the top which gives you the solar failsafe feature which means even if your battery dies the optic will still work (it will use whatever juice it has in the capacitor if there is no direct light). The solar panel also gives this optic an additional “auto brightness” feature.
Personally I find auto brightness mode very convenient. If you are going outdoors to indoors the auto brightness is very handy. The 407C X2 has auto brightness and manual brightness, you can use either mode.
If you are someone who likes a 2 MOA dot only and wants a solid optic you can rely on, then the 407C X2 is a great choice without spending too much money.

Holosun 407C X2 Downsides
Since we compared the 407C X2 above to the Trijicon RMR Type 2 Adjustable LED it’s only fair to compare it in this section. The 407C X2 is a super solid optic, however if you were to compare the drop proof durability of the 407C X2 to the Trijicon RMR type 2 adjustable, the Trijicon wins.
The Trijicon RMR has a patented designed housing to help absorb drops. Therefore a potential downside of the 407C X2 when compared to the Trijicon RMR is that it will not be as durable for drops.
The 407C X2 can still be racked using the optic and withstand abuse (including drops), its just the Trijicon RMR will be able to withstand drops better.
The only other potential downside of the 407C X2 is that is has a 2 MOA dot only. Compared to the 507C X2 which has a 2 MOA dot and a 32 MOA outer ring or the 507C ACSS Vulcan which has a 10 MOA Chevron with a 250 MOA outer ring.
Also if durability is a huge factor for your, check out the Holosun 508T X2 .. this is just as durable as the Trijicon RMR, it’s made out of Titanium and has a square shape to make it more rugged for drops.
Holosun 407C X2 Warranty
Holosun has a limited lifetime warranty. Basically everything is covered for the lifetime of the optic except for the electronics, that is covered for 10 years.
We’ve dealt with Holosuns warranty department and they are easy to deal with.

Conclusion
The Holosun 407C X2 is a great value due to it’s features track record and price. Many people like the appeal of the MRS reticle on the 507C X2, however if you are the type of person that is 100% ok with a 2 MOA dot only, then the 407C X2 is perfect for you.
Compared to any other optic on the market, it’s 7075 aluminum housing, and features make it a market leader.
