My preference on a CCW is to use a shorter light for comfort. The TLR 7 series fits that purpose especially for AIWB. I have the A, X, and now the HL-X. I like that the HL-X has 1000 lumens versus the other two having only 500 lumens. The battery that comes with the HL-X is rechargable and I'll need to see how well it holds up over time.
Gold dot is the way to go for me. Red is tough for me with astigmatism and green isn't ideal when out with a lot of green background it washes out and in darkness it's too much. This Gold/yellow dot looks great and is visible without catching my eye too much or too little like green.
the 509T housing is solid so far no breaking though I havent taken it out too much yet. I did have to get an additional adaptor plate to make it work well with my M&P.
I cant get a shot of the dot well on my camera but its on youtube and I can say it looks like how you'd expect it to after seeing it on video.
The installation on my M2.0 Compact took about 3 minutes and fits perfectly. 10 minutes with a laser boresighter and it was dead on before I got to the range. It looks great -love it.
The gold dot is fantastic if you have a red/green deficiency. The optic my gun called for was a full size eps because its considered a full size pistol. After doing some research and talking with the staff at freedom gorilla they suggested getting the eps carry version because it would fit flush with the slide and not overhang giving it a flush mount. I wanted the plate and optic to be flush and it turned out incredible. The eps carry gold dot is very clear and it cowitness 1/3 just like the staff told me. My factory sights are suppressor height so using the dog tag plate gave it a perfect cowitness in the optic window so you can see the dot and the iron sights perfectly. If your sights are shorter than suppressor height im sure the staff will be able to find something that would work for your application.

Mounted the SCS Carry on my CZ Shadow 2 Carry. Perfect fit, no plate required. No gaps in the optics footprint. Installation was simple. Zeroed with minimal adjustments. The screws that came with my holosun red dot were too short for my lone wolf slide. These did the job.
