Holosun 507C X2 ACSS Vulcan Reticles
The 507C X2 ACSS Vulcan comes in red or green reticle versions. It also features the ACSS Vulcan Reticle, with a 250 MOA outer ring and a 10 MOA chevron center dot. The outer ring can be toggled on or off by holding down the “-” button for 3 seconds. Here’s a quick overview of how the red and green reticle compare:
Red Dot Reticle
The red dot version of the Holosun 507C X2 ACSS Vulcan is a reliable choice for shooters who prefer a traditional reticle color. Featuring the ACSS Vulcan Reticle, the red reticle is both practical and cost-effective. It performs well in various lighting conditions, making it ideal for a wide range of scenarios.
Green Dot Reticle
The green dot version of the Holosun 507C X2 ACSS Vulcan is a great choice for those seeking enhanced visibility. The green reticle retains all the benefits of the ACSS Vulcan system but with a color that some users find easier to track. It does, however, come at a slightly higher price point.
Holosun 507C X2 ACSS Vulcan Pricing & Models
Although both reticle versions, green and red, of the Holosun 507C X2 ACSS Vulcan feature the same impressive 10 MOA chevron and 250 MOA outer ring, green reticles are more expensive than red. Why? Let’s break it down:
Why Are Green Dots More Expensive?
There are three main reasons for that:
- The Tech Behind It: The simplest answer is that Green LEDs are trickier and more expensive to produce than red ones. That extra effort in manufacturing is part of the reason for the higher price tag.
- Easier on the Eyes: Green light is naturally easier for the human eye to pick up, especially in daylight. If you’re shooting outdoors, a green reticle can feel like it’s practically glowing on your target. That enhanced visibility makes it a popular choice, which also bumps up the demand and price.
Red vs. Green Dot Models
The choice between red and green Holosun 507C X2 ACSS Vulcan reticle can be a tough one. Here are some key points to help you decide:
- Eye comfort: Green reticles are generally easier on the eyes, causing less strain.
- Astigmatism benefits: If you have astigmatism, red dots can appear blurry. Many customers with astigmatism report that green dots look crisper and clearer.
- Battery efficiency: Green dots are brighter at lower settings. For example, a green dot on brightness level 6 might match a red dot at level 7, which helps conserve battery life.

The optic’s compact dimensions and its RMR footprint allow it to fit anything with an RMR footprint. The 0.91” x 0.63” window ensures a clear sight picture without adding unnecessary size. Holosun 507C X2 ACSS Vulcan Footprint
The Holosun 507C X2 ACSS Vulcan is an RMR footprint optic. This means it will fit on any RMR footprint slide or adapter plate. Its design also ensures a secure, stable fit, enhancing shooting precision and reliability.
In general, if you have an existing RMR-compatible setup, the 507C X2 will integrate effortlessly without requiring additional hardware.
Overall, the 507C X2 is a versatile and convenient choice for shooters looking for a high-performance optic. Provided the firearm you want to mount it to has a slide, adapter plate, or mount with an RMR footprint.
Holosun 507C X2 ACSS Vulcan Intended Use
The Holosun 507C X2 ACSS Vulcan is an RMR footprint optic and a regular-sized pistol red dot. This means it is intended for use on any pistol with an RMR footprint or RMR adapter plate.
Most of the time, this means the pistol will be a full-size or compact such as a Glock 19 MOS or the S&W M&P 2.0. Make sure you know what footprint your gun is.
The 507C X2 ACSS Vulcan is not intended for and usually will not fit any micro-compact pistol like a Glock 43X MOS or Sig P365. For smaller pistols, you want to look at the 507K X2 ACSS Vulcan. This is because smaller micro-compact pistols usually come with a different footprint, like the RMSc or K series footprint.
The 507C X2 ACSS Vulcan can also be used as a rifle optic, PCC optic, or backup scope optic if you get an "RMR" picatinny or offset adapter found here.

Holosun 507C X2 ACSS Vulcan Review & Highlights
The Holosun 507C X2 ACSS Vulcan has a bit of a cult following - and for good reason. The ACSS Vulcan reticle, designed by Primary Arms, gives you more benefits than a standard reticle.
In-person, when looking at the optic with the center chevron dead center, you barely see the 250 MOA outer ring. That’s because the outer ring is made to act like an “aim assist” so you can find the “center dot” as quickly as possible.
Solving the “Finding the Dot” Issue
“Finding the Dot” is one of the biggest challenges for new to red dot shooters. In short, it refers to aligning the optic properly to see the dot in the window. This skill requires practice and muscle memory. However, the ACSS Vulcan reticle simplifies this learning curve with its large 250 MOA outer ring.
Essentially, when your “center dot” isn’t centered, you will see part of the 250 MOA outer ring. Once you see it, you quickly understand how you need to adjust your grip to see the center dot.
In our experience, this is great for new red dot shooters, competition shooters, and anyone who wants the added security of having that “aim assist” to find the dot.
Many competitive shooters have told us that the reticle helps them when shooting from odd positions, like shooting with your non-dominant hand, leaning sideways, or lying on your side.
We’ve also found the ACSS Vulcan helpful when clearing rooms or moving while keeping your pistol drawn in front of you.
The 10 MOA Chevron Advantage
Another highlight of the 507C X2 ACSS Vulcan is that the center dot is a 10 MOA chevron. This offers two key advantages:
- Pinpoint Precision: The chevron's tip measures just 0.5 MOA, making it one of the most precise reticles available.
- BDC Functionality: The bottom of the chevron acts as a ballistic drop compensator, indicating where a 9mm round will hit at 50 yards.
There is a third benefit, and that is that some people report that the 10 MOA chevron helps with their astigmatism.
We can’t really comment on whether it would be you or not, as everyone’s astigmatism is different, but it’s definitely worth noting.
Beyond the Reticle
The Holosun 507C X2 ACSS Vulcan retains all the features that make the standard 507C X2 so reliable:
- Shake Awake Technology: Activates the reticle instantly upon motion.
- Brightness Options: Auto and manual brightness settings.
- Solar Failsafe: Ensures continued operation under varying light conditions.
- Durable Housing: Made from 7075 T6 aluminum with an IP67 waterproof rating.
- Convenient Battery Access: A side-removable battery tray eliminates the need to remove the optic for battery changes.
It’s just a great reticle, well worth its price tag. It combines incredible versatility with practicality, making it one of the best pistol reticles on the market.

Holosun 507C X2 ACSS Vulcan Downsides
As much as we love the Holosun 507C X2 ACSS Vulcan, it’s not without its flaws. Here are some downsides to consider before buying:
- Higher Price Point: The ACSS Vulcan version is more expensive than the standard 507C X2. While the additional features justify the cost for many, budget-conscious buyers may find the price a bit steep.
- Reduced Battery Life: The reticle design, particularly the 250 MOA outer ring, consumes more power. Battery life ranges between 5,000 to 20,000 hours, which is a bit less than a standard 507C.
Still, these downsides are relatively minor when weighed against the optic’s features and performance. However, they are worth keeping in mind to ensure the 507C X2 ACSS Vulcan aligns with your needs and preferences.
Holosun 507C X2 ACSS Vulcan Warranty
Since the Holosun 507C X2 ACSS Vulcan is a co-branded optic with Primary Arms, it actually falls under the Primary Arms warranty.
Primary Arms offers a lifetime warranty on all its optics. So, if you have any issues, you can contact Primary Arms, and they will fix them.
Also, when you purchase from Freedom Gorilla, if you have an issue within 30 days, we will replace the optic for you free of charge.
Final Thoughts
The Holosun 507C X2 ACSS Vulcan is an awesome pistol optic. If you are someone who values practicality and utility, then this is the optic for you. The features on the 507C X2 ACSS Vulcan are class-leading, and the ACSS Vulcan Reticle is probably the most well thought out pistol optic reticle on the market.
Whether you plan to use this reticle for duty, EDC, or competition, you can rest assured it will serve you very well.
