The Holosun 509T X2 is an enclosed emitter optic that is made out of Grade 5 Titanium. The Titanium is to make it extra durable and drop proof, so it's perfect for duty use. The 509T X2 has the Holosun MRS - 3 reticle system, shake awake, long battery life with side removable battery, IP67 water proof rating, has a solar failsafe with manual and auto brightness modes, comes in red or green reticles and in an FDE or Black housing. Holosun 509T X2 Reticles
The Holosun 509T comes with the MRS reticle (multi reticle system) which is a 32 MOA circle with a 2 MOA center dot. The reticle can be toggled holding down the “-” button for 3 seconds so you can have a 32 MOA outer ring only, 2 MOA center dot only, or both together.
The MRS reticle is nice if you want flexibility. The larger outer ring helps you "find the dot" and the 2 MOA center dot is small and precise.
The Holosoun 509T comes in red or green reticles. The green version is slightly more expensive.

Holosun 509T X2 Footprint
The Holosun 509T X2 has it’s own clamping footprint. It comes with an RMR adapter plate, and more adapter plates can be purchased here.
Out of the box it means it will fit on an RMR footprint slide.
*Note: The 509T X2 RMR adapter plate will not work with any "Zev Post" slides. Also if you plan on using a "plate sandwich" where you mount the RMR plate to another plate for your gun, you may run into screw length issues. Refer to the fitment table below for more information.
Holosun 509T X2 Intended Use
The Holosun 509T X2 is a regular sized pistol red dot. This means it is intended for use on any pistol with an RMR footprint, RMR adapter plate, or that can accept an aftermarket 509T X2 adapter plate which can be found here.
Most of the time this means the pistol will be a full size or compact such as a Glock 19 MOS or a S&W M&P 2.0. Make sure you know what footprint your gun is. The 509T X2 is not intended for and usually will not fit any micro compact pistol like a Glock 43X MOS or Sig P365. For the smaller pistols you want to look at the EPS Carry.

Holosun 509T X2 Review & Highlights
The Holosun 509T X2 is one of the most durable enclosed emitter pistol optics on the market. It’s built like a tank with it’s Grade 5 Titanium housing and is intended for hard duty use.
It’s also one of the oldest closed emitter optics on the market. The 509T X2 has a durable Grade 5 housing, two panes of glass to protect the laser emitter from being obstructed by debris, dust, mud, or precipitation. It has an IP67 waterproof rating, come with Shake Awake, a side removable battery, has long battery life, and has a solar failsafe with both auto brightness and manual brightness modes.
The 509T X2 also comes in red or green reticles, has the MRS reticle, and is available in FDE or black housing colors.
The 509T X2 uses a clamping mechanism, so you mount a plate to your optics ready slide, then clamp the optic to the plate. Many aftermarket 509T X2 adapter plates are available .. you can find many here. Getting a dedicated 509T X2 plate will allow the optic to sit lower on your slide if you have a pistol with a multi adapter plate system.

Holosun 509T X2 Downsides
The only real downside to the Holosun 509T X2 is that because of it’s clamping mechanism it has a higher than average deck height. This means in most cases you will need suppressor height sights and an adapter plate to properly co-witness with the optic.
Holosun 509T X2 Warranty
Holosun has a limited lifetime warranty. Basically everything is covered for the lifetime of the optic except for the electronics, that is covered for 10 years.
We’ve dealt with Holosuns warranty department and they are easy to deal with.
Also when you purchase from Freedom Gorilla, if you have an issue within 30 days we will replace the optic for you free of charge.
Conclusion
Overall the Holosun 509T X2 is an extremely reliable, durable, and proven duty optic. Compared to others on the market, you will get the most bang for your buck with the 509T X2.
Sometimes customers really are dead set on the 509T X2, but at times we recommend the EPS full size over the 509T X2. The EPS full size MRS is very similar to the 509T except it has a 7075 Aluminum housing, and a lower deck height.
If you 100% need the durability of the titanium housing then by all means get the 509T X2, however if you are simply looking for an enclosed emitter, and want a better chance of co-witnessing your iron sights, we normally would recommend the EPS full size.
