Description

The Holosun SCS VP9 is a solar recharging direct mount pistol optic that fits directly on an Heckler & Koch VP9 Optics Ready Slide

The “SCS” (Solar Charging Sight) series from Holosun is an innovative design that gives this optic an internal rechargeable battery with a 20K hour power reserve, a solar panel that recharges the battery, and a sleek low profile footprint designed specifically for the H&K VP9 OR models.

The end result is that you get a very sleek, very low profile optic that allows you to co-witness your low iron sights, lets you match the look and aesthetic of your pistol, and allows you to eliminate the need for using adapter plates by attaching directly to your optics cut slide.

This optic will fit directly on the slide of any H&K VP9 OR models. No adapter plates are needed. *Note: if you have a very early model (circa 2019 or older) of a H&K VP9 OR it could be possible this would not fit. 

The SCS VP9  is made out of 7075 T6 Aluminum, it has a green MRS Reticle (multi reticle system), and has a super low profile design. The MRS reticle features a 32 MOA outer ring and a 2 MOA center dot.

The SCS VP9  has advanced ambient and downrange light sensors. It has an auto brightness setting and a manual override setting in which you can press the side button and get increased brightness for 30 minutes if ever needed.

The solar charging tech works like this. The battery stores power, in this case it can store 20K hours of reserve, the solar panel charges the battery. With this system, the solar panel charges the battery faster than the battery drains. This means that you have a theoretically infinite battery life.

These optics do not come with “shake awake”, they are intended to remain on all the time - a true set and forget it type of optic. (Although you can turn them off if you like)The battery charges with both natural and artificial light. If you were to go to the range one time per year, that is enough to charge the battery from zero to full. If you were to then put it inside of a safe with zero light, the battery would last for 2 years.

If you are someone who wants a sleek, low profile optic that matches the look of your H&K VP9 OR pistol, and wants to keep your low iron sights and have them co-witness, and also likes the idea of never having to worry about batteries or turning optics on, then this is for you.

This optic has a green reticle. Green has a few benefits:

  • Green reticles are less straining for the eye to see.
  • Green reticles can help with astigmatism. If you have astigmatism you will see a blurry dot, we have been told by a few customers that Green dots help with their astigmatism, making the dot look more crisp than the red version.
  • Green will not washout on backdrops like green grass, foliage, or green colors.
  • In theory Green dots can have a longer battery life because Green is brighter, so for example a green dot on brightness setting 6 may be the same brightness as a red dot on setting 7 - which would save battery life.

Your Holosun product is warranted to be free of defects in materials and workmanship upon registration of the product for the lifetime of the product. This warranty specifically applies to the metal structure, optical and illumination systems. The metal structure/housing and optical system (glass) of your Holosun product is warrantied for the life of the product under normal, personal use. Under the Holosun Warranty, the illumination system (LED), is warrantied for 10 years from the manufacture date under normal, personal use. In the event of a confirmed defect under this warranty, we will, at our option, repair or replace the product with a Holosun product of similar type/function, and of equal or greater value. Holosun reserves the right to make substitutions for similar product/s if the warrantied model in question is no longer in production. This Holosun Warranty does not apply to: (a) asserted defects caused by normal wear and tear of any part including knobs, finish, etc.; (b) asserted defects caused by modification including; aftermarket finishes, unauthorized service, improper maintenance, acts of Nature; and (c) asserted defects involving subjective personal likes or judgments. Also, this warranty is null and void if modification or maintenance is provided by someone other than Holosun. Holosun may restrict warranty service for our products to the country from which Holosun or its authorized dealers originally sold the Holosun product. For warranty claims outside the United States, the costs of shipping or transporting the product (including to and from Holosun or our dealer), any insurance or any fees, duties and taxes are the sole responsibility of the purchaser and will not be covered by this warranty.

First impressions Holosun SCS H&K VP9

It’s early days using the Holosun SCS for my H&K VP9 . My first attempt at zeroing it with the laser bore light didn’t go so well . I’m hoping to get it zeroed in better and seeing how I did . The zeroing with the laser was very cool though and functioned really well . I’m pleased with the quality of the lasers and the SCS optic .
