Holosun has officially announced the discontinuation of its popular 403 and 503 series optics, making way for two groundbreaking successors: the ARO (Advanced Rifle Optic) and ARO-EVO (Advanced Rifle Optic EVOLUTION). These new optics build upon the legacy of their predecessors with enhanced features, improved performance, and cutting-edge design elements to meet the needs of modern shooters.
What is the ARO?

The ARO is a next-generation optic designed to replace the 403 and 503 series. With a 22mm housing design, the ARO provides a compact and versatile sight picture that pairs seamlessly with Holosun’s magnifier series. Equipped with either the MRS (Multi-Reticle System) or a more affordable 2 MOA Dot only version. The multi-reticle system allows users to choose between a 2 MOA dot, a 65 MOA circle, or a combination of both, delivering flexibility for a variety of scenarios.
Key features of the ARO include:
- Reticle Choices: Green, Red, and Gold dots are available in either a MRS reticle or 2 MOA Dot only.
- Battery Life & Technology: Enjoy up to 50,000 hours of battery life powered by a reliable CR2032 battery with Shake Awake™ technology and Last Setting Recall for instant readiness.
- Built to Last: Constructed with durable aluminum and boasting an IP67 waterproof rating, the ARO is ready to perform in any environment.
- Brightness Adjustments: Features 10 daylight settings and 2 night vision modes for optimal visibility in all lighting conditions.
- Compatibility: Designed with a standard T2 footprint for easy mounting.
- Design: There is no bright white branding on these optics, instead it is a subdued black outline, like on the magnifiers, giving the ARO modern aesthetics paired with rugged performance.
The ARO is a compact, reliable optic that enhances precision and usability for shooters of all skill levels.
What is the ARO-EVO?

Taking innovation even further, the ARO-EVO introduces a 26mm housing design, providing an expanded field of view for greater situational awareness. Designed for precision and adaptability, the ARO-EVO is equipped with Holosun’s all-new Special Purpose Reticle (SPR). This reticle includes bullet-drop compensation and ranging functionality, making it ideal for intermediate-range shooting.
Key features of the ARO-EVO include:
- Reticle Options: The SPR for enhanced accuracy or a standard 2 MOA dot.
- Reticle Colors: Available in Red, Green, and Gold LED options.
- Technology: Shake Awake™, Solar FailSafe™, and up to 50,000 hours of battery life with a CR2032 battery.
- Brightness Settings: 8 daylight and 4 night vision modes for diverse lighting conditions.
- Durability: Constructed from 7075 T6 aluminum with an IP67 waterproof rating.
- Design: There is no bright white branding on these optics, instead it is a subdued black outline, like on the magnifiers, giving the ARO modern aesthetics paired with rugged performance.
With its larger housing and advanced SPR, the ARO-EVO offers unparalleled precision and functionality for shooters looking to excel at intermediate distances.
Gold Dot Reticle Option
Both the ARO and ARO-EVO will be available with a Gold LED reticle option. This color offers enhanced visibility in certain environments and gives users even more customization for their setup.
