If you enjoy turning money into noise while chasing a paper target across a range, stop reading now. But if you’d prefer your first real shot to actually land on the paper, the Sightmark Precision Laser Boresighter is your new best friend.
The Lowdown
• The Fit: It sits in your chamber like a brass-cased secret agent. High-quality brass construction means it won't chew up your extractor, which is more than I can say for some of the "budget" aluminum alternatives.
• The Beam: The red dot is crisp enough to see at 25 yards indoors, though, like a shy cat, it struggles in direct high-noon sunlight.
• The Battery Life: It’s a "don’t forget to unscrew it" situation. There’s no on/off switch, so if you leave it chambered overnight, you’ll wake up to a very expensive, very dead piece of metal.
The Verdict
It’s not a magic wand that guarantees a bullseye—you still have to account for ballistics once the lead starts flying—but it gets you "on the paper" in about thirty seconds. It’s essentially a cheat code for your handgun or PCC.
Pros: Saves its own weight in 9mm ammo costs within two range trips.
Cons: Makes you realize just how shaky your hands actually are.
Freedom Gorilla is my go-to site for optics & plates
Plate fits perfectly and the Holosun EPS still co-witnesses very well.
Nice plate fit p10c ported fine.
I've been trying to find a adapter plate for a long time for my first gen full size tactical xd45, long before xd blew up to what it is today. Seems like that first gen was forgot about and wasn't popular like all the new compact xd's so not many plates were available to choose from unless I spent a fortune on a new red dot. Until, I came across freedom gorilla and this gorgeous adapter plate that fits like a glove and pre threaded holes for different optics. Red dot fits perfectly on top of plate and comes with pre coated lock tight screws so nothing comes loose after torquing down. Having that reassurance my optics will stay put no matter what abuse I give it is a must . No matter if im running, sliding, jumping, falling, or it banging off my primary when in while its holstered is not a worry. So I can execute smoothly quickly with no worry if something has become loose or has fell off. I will go straight to freedom gorilla for all optic plates or accessories.
I put this on my EDC Glock 45. I have shot over 500 rounds with the optic so far. It has kept zero, and it has not come loose on the slide. This optic has a large window, and it is easy to find the dot for fast follow up shots. The glass is very clear and of good quality. I ordered the mounting plate from Freedom Gorilla as well. Both were received quickly. It works perfect so far. I’m very pleased with the overall quality. Glad I didn’t spend extra money on a more expensive sight.
Liked the first one on my Shadow 2 Orange so much I bought a second one for my Walthere PDP compact metal frame. Huge sight picture, easy to install. Love the reticle choices and brightness settings for this optic. Resources on the Freedom Gorilla website is very helpful AND they provide the best customer service!!
Very easy to install on my M&P 2.0 that isn’t optic ready. Only thing I wish it had for the not optic ready version is it to have a cowitness rear optic in front of the red dot adapter. Dovedot has it but twice the price. Or if it had a choice for a suppressor height front sight. That way you have the iron sights for back up.
I have Eotechs on a couple of my guns, but can't spend that kind of money on them all, so I tried an AEMS, and it's now probably my favorite optic. I've now bought a second one for another gun. The glass it very clear, the reticle is sharp and easy to see. At the price point of the Core models, I don't think there's anything better out there. Added the low mount on my AP5 recently, and it's perfect.
