Description

The 509 ACSS Vulcan has a 7075 T6 Aluminum housing and the ACSS Vulcan reticle which is a 250 MOA Outer Ring and a 10 MOA Center Chevron. The outer ring acts like an "aim assist". When the Chevron is centered in the window the outer ring is not visible. But if you have difficulty "finding the dot" you will see the large outer ring. This will tell you how to adjust your grip to "find the dot".

If you are new to red dot pistol shooting or shoot in competitions the ACSS Vulcan reticle is truly a game changer.

It's also an enclosed emitter design which ensures nothing will get in between the laser and the glass, giving you extra security and protection against elements like rain, water, dust, mud, snow, etc.

In addition, the 10 MOA Chevron acts like a BDC in which the bottom of the chevron is where a 9mm bullet would hit at 50 yards. Furthermore, the tip of the Chevron is the most precise aiming point possible in a pistol red dot at .5 MOA.

If you are someone who is looking for a direct mount optic for your Glock MOS Doublestack, and really like the idea of the ACSS Vulcan reticle, and also the enclosed emitter design, then this is for you.

Notes:

The adapter plate for the "-R" version is compatible with the most popular aftermarket slide cut in the industry. It is the same footprint as the Holosun 507C, making it compatible with most plate systems found on factory optics ready guns like the Walther PDP, S&W M&P C.O.R.E., CZ Optics Ready, Agency Arms AOS, FN 509 MRD, and Springfield Armory XDM Elite series handguns. It is also one of the most common aftermarket slide cut footprints.

The included 509 adapter plate is not compatible with ZEV or Shadow Systems style RMR interfaces.

The 509 ACSS model does not share the same footprint as the 509T (non-ACSS models) and therefore is incompatible with aftermarket mounting solutions and custom cut slides for the 509T (non-ACSS models).

Another awesome red dot

My first closed emitter red dot. Thought they would be bulky when carrying, but no real difference-just as concealable and no worries from dirt or moisture. The ACSS reticle is a game changer for getting on target quickly. Would recommend to everyone. This is my second one, and soon all of my optic pistols will have one. Kudos to Freedom Gorilla for the massive amount of information on their site eliminating the confusion on which plate to get for fitment. This install on a G22 took about 3 minutes. Thanks FG!

Freedom Gorilla is the best

This is my third purchase with Freedom Gorilla, and it won't be the last. They offer the absolute best prices, which is why I return to them. After shopping and doing research, I always go to them because I know they will have the item at the best price. Also, thank you for the veterans' discounts.

I'm using on a Springfield Echelon; some info:

First off, the screws and pegs that were under the factory installed "red dot mount cover plate" were the correct ones for this 509 ACSS Vulcan red dot sight. The factory cover plate screws stick out the required .110" below the "RMR mounting plate" which is included with this red dot sight. The second thing I want to mention is its "co-witness" with iron sights. The Springfield factory available accessory sights "Delta Point PRO Height U-notch" sights, for the Echelon series and XD series give a nice (but low) 1/8" co-witness with this red dot sight. I like this myself, as they do not block the view threw the red dot sight. As far as ease of acquiring the "dot/chevron" with this sight, I imagine the 250 MOA circle will help, but I already have a good presentation with "Iron sights/red dot sights" (from years of use) but is still reassuring to see it as I am presenting my pistol to target. I really like the "Chevron/dot" and I find it worth the price of admission. To sum up, it's a good sight and I would recommend it!

Overall the best ACSS pistol optic. I own both this and the 507c ACSS in green. I have an astigmatism and heard the green could help, the difference for me was only slight at best and the red reticle actually contrasts the background better. Only downside to the 509 is the funky mounting requiring a special plate so its taller and practically impossible to cowitness even with supressor height sights. The 507c could be direct mounted for me. This one has a better square window and is seeled though. If given the choice again id get this one but i hope they will eventually put out an EPS ACSS and combine the benefits of both.
