Holosun 508T X2 vs 507C X2 Photo & Video Comparison Guide

paul rinaldi |

Hey Freedom Gorillas today we are going to explain the similarities and differences between the Holosun 508T X2 and the 507 X2. We understand that it can be difficult to understand the differences when you don’t have them both in your hands.

Ok so lets get into it. The first thing to know about the Holosun 507C X2 and 508T X2 is that they have an RMR footprint. This means you’ll need to know the footprint of your pistol and will need to know if these will fit. You can check out our fitment guides here and they will explain which Holosun optics fit your pistol and any type of adapter plate you may need.

TLDR: The main difference between the 508T X2 and the 507C X2 is that the 508T X2 has a square shaped window and housing and is made out of titanium which makes it more durable than the 507C X2 which is made out of 7075 T6 Aluminum. Both the shape of the 508T X2 and the material make it stronger. The 508T X2 is one of the strongest and toughest pistol optics on the market.

Holosun 508T X2 vs 507C X2 Models & Pricing

The Holosun 508T X2 is about $60 more expensive than the 507C X2. This is mainly because it's made out of Grade 5 Titanium instead of 7075 T6 Aluminum.

The titanium and the square shape of the 508T X2 are meant to make it tougher and more durable - not to make it lighter.

Both the 508T X2 and the 507C X2 come in red and green reticles.

Holosun 508T X2 vs 507C X2 Footprint

The footprint on the 508T X2 and the 507C X2 are the same, they are both RMR footprints.

This means your pistol must have an RMR cut slide or you must have an RMR adapter plate. If you do not then these will not fit your pistol.

Holosun 508T X2 vs 507C X2 Size & Intended Use

Both the 508T X2 and the 507C X2 are full size pistol optics. They are meant to be mounted on full size or compact pistols. They are not intended for slimmer and micro compact pistols.

When mounted on your pistol they may have some overhang on the slide but not much.

The windows on both of them are similar in size, the main difference is the 508T X2 has more of a square shape, whereas the 507C X2 has a rounder top.

Holosun 508T X2 vs 507C X2 Differences

  • The 508T X2 is made out of Grade 5 Titanium and the 507C X2 is made out of 7075 T6 Aluminum
  • The 508T X2 is significantly more durable than the 507C X2
  • The 508T X2 has a square window and housing shape which aids in durability.
  • The 507C X2 has an oval top shaped housing.

Holosun 508T X2 vs 507C X2 Which is Better?

As you can see the main difference between the 507C X2 and the 508T X2 is that the 508T X2 has a square shape and is made out of titanium. Both the titanium and the square shape are to make the 508T X2 more durable.

So which is better? Well the 508T X2 is $60 more than the 507C X2 so you have to ask yourself if you need that extra durability or if you prefer a more rectangle shaped window.

The 508T X2 is essentially a “Duty” version of the 507C X2. The 507C X2 is still plenty durable, however it’s a fact that the 507C X2 oval shape top can not take as much of a beating hitting the ground as the 508T X2’s square shape.

Internally both are the same, it’s just the material, shape, and intended use that’s different.
