Canik Mete MC9 Optics: Fitment, Footprints, & Mounting

The Canik Mete MC9 has quickly become a favorite for concealed carry due to its impressive capacity and "Optics Ready" slide. Unlike the larger TP9 series, the Canik MC9 footprint is a modified RMSc cut, also known as a K Footprint.

Direct Mount Optics: No Plates Required

One of the biggest advantages of the MC9 is its ability to accept the most popular micro-dots directly on the slide. This eliminates the need for adapter plates, reducing the number of failure points and keeping the optic as low as possible. The following optics are a direct fit for the Canik MC9:

  • Holosun K-Series: The 407K and 507K mount directly to the slide with no gap.
  • Holosun EPS Carry: This enclosed emitter optic is a favorite for the MC9, providing a flush fit on the sides of the slide.
  • Vortex CCW & Osight SE: These use the native footprint of the slide for a perfect "plug and play" installation.

Note on Holosun EPS (Full Size): While the full-size EPS will fit the MC9 slide, it is wider than the slide and will result in a noticeable "overhang" on the sides. For a flush look, we recommend the EPS Carry.

Top Rated Canik Mete MC9 Red Dots by Use Case

  • Best for Everyday Carry (EDC): The Holosun EPS Carry. Its enclosed design ensures that lint and dust won't obstruct your dot while carried in a holster.
  • Best Value Option: The Holosun 407K. With a crisp 6 MOA dot and rugged aluminum housing, it provides professional-grade performance at an entry-level price.
  • Best for Fast Acquisition: The Holosun 507K ACSS Vulcan. The large outer ring helps you find the center dot instantly, which is a major advantage on a sub-compact pistol like the MC9.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What screw size does the Canik Mete MC9 use? For Holosun optics (407K, 507K, EPS Carry), you should use M3 screws. Specifically, the M3 screws that come in your Holosun box are usually the correct length, but always check for proper thread engagement and ensure the screw does not interfere with the internal safety plunger.

Does the MC9 co-witness with factory sights? Yes. Because the MC9 slide is milled so deeply, most Canik MC9 optics (like the Holosun K-Series) will allow for a co-witness with the factory white-dot iron sights. You can see the cowitness here.

Is the MC9 compatible with the Trijicon RMR? No. The Trijicon RMR and SRO use a much larger footprint that is too wide for the MC9 slide. The MC9 is strictly designed for "Micro" optics with a RMSc footprint.
