Shake Awake™ and Solar Failsafe™ Technology: Advanced Rifle Sight Innovation

These Holosun optics feature two of Holosun’s advanced technologies: Shake Awake and Solar Failsafe. The Shake Awake technology automatically turns off the sight after a period of inactivity and reactivates it after it senses movement. 

You can choose for your optic to automatically turn off after 10 minutes, 1 hour, or 12 hours of inactivity, or you can turn off the feature completely to stick to a manual on and off function. This helps preserve battery life when the optic is stored or during transport.

Holosun also features a Solar Failsafe, which is a solar panel on the top of the housing that keeps the optic powered using ambient light even if your battery is low. The typical battery life for these optics spans from 20k hours, like with the Holosun 515, to indefinitely , as with the Holosun SCRS which uses solar recharging technology. Holosun's solar charging technology extends beyond rifle optics to the Holosun SCS Series, which uses integrated solar panels for extended runtime.

The majority of optics on this list have an average battery life of 50k hours and 12 brightness settings. These brightness settings typically include 10 daytime settings and 2 night vision compatible settings. 

Multi-Reticle System (MRS) Options

Another feature of these Holosun rifle optics is the multi-reticle system (MRS). This system allows you to choose between dot only, circle only, and both circle and dot at the same time. The MRS with these Holosun rifle optics features a 2 MOA dot and 65 MOA circle. 

The MRS is featured across multiple series including the Holosun AEMS (MAX and PRO), Holosun 510C, Holosun SCRS, Holosun ARO, Holosun 512T, Holosun 515CT, Holosun 515GM, Holosun 503CU, and Holosun 530C. 

The MRS is convenient for those who are looking for some flexibility for different shooting scenarios, and it’s important to keep in mind that the reticle setting will have an effect on the battery life. 

ACSS CQB Specialty Reticles

Primary Arms and Holosun have come together to develop the ACSS CQB reticle found with the Holosun 503G. This reticle features a chevron that the eye can pick up easily for close range shooting and at long distances provides an easy-focus tip for better accuracy. 

Open Reflex vs. Enclosed Designs: 510C, AEMS, and SCRS Series

From open reflex 510C sights to enclosed AEMS and SCRS series, these optics offer multi-reticle systems with 2 MOA dots, 65 MOA circles, and specialty ACSS CQB reticles.

The Holosun 510C is the one open reflex Holosun rifle optic. This open reflex design provides a large field of view, an MRS with 2 MOA dot and 65 MOA circle and a quick release mount that simply unlatches from the rail. 

The majority of our Holosun rifle optics have an enclosed design, which prevents dust, debris, and dirt from getting on the emitter and causing issues. This also makes the emitter more durable and applicable for outdoor and tactical use. For additional protection during transport or storage, Optic Covers help shield the lens from scratches and impacts.

The series that feature an enclosed design include the AEMS series. The AEMS has a standard model as well as a MAX Ronin which features a larger viewing window and PRO series which has more night vision modes and has a more durable housing.

The SCRS is also an enclosed emitter with a compact design, 20k hours of battery life, and a multi-reticle system. The ARO is a simple enclosed optic similar to the SCRS but it has 50k hours of battery life and a 22mm housing design with a large sight picture and compact profile. 

Aluminum vs. Titanium Housing Construction

Holosun’s rifle optics use 7075-T6 and 6061-T6 aluminum for their sight housing across most models which is durable and light. For even more durability Holosun’s 512T, 515T, 515GT,  and the HM3XT magnifier feature a Grade 5 titanium housing design. 

Although titanium design is more durable than aluminum, it adds on some weight, which is something to consider when deciding on your Holosun rifle optic. 

Co-Witness Mounting and Sight Picture Options

Many of the Holosun rifle optics available come with a ⅓ cowitness mount or absolute co witness mount.

You also have the option of combo packages that include an optic with the HM3X magnifier. The HM3X Magnifier has a 3x magnification and has a switch-to-side mount that allows you to flip the magnifier to the side when not in use and simply flip it back upright when you need it. 

The standard HM3X has a durable and light aluminum housing and there is the HM3XT, which is the titanium housing option. The HM3XT comes with absolute or lower ⅓ co-witness options. The magnifier is compatible across rifle optic platforms such as the 510C, AEMS, and others.
